Alphabet LettersMy youngest daughter is just learning to read at school and the school have asked that I go through
Alphabet Letters with her every day to make sure that she knows her
Alphabet Letters well to progress her reading. Luckily, my daughter is really keen on
Alphabet Letters and likes nothing better than sitting with me and identifying letters that I write for her. I must say she is picking it up really quickly and I was immensely gratified when her teacher told me the other day that she is now beginning to blend letters together which is the first stage of beginning to read properly. I am delighted with her progress and I take the time every evening to ensure that we read a book together. Although she has her favourite books I feel it is very important to read as wide a range of books as possible so she is continually being tested. This seems to work very well indeed and she always takes to a new story with gusto. I wish I could say the same about my eldest daughter who can read very well indeed but actually hates picking up a book and doing any reading at all.
